Trade Skills Self-Assessment

Trade Skills Self-Assessment

In order to be considered for work opportunities in Australia, all applicants must complete this skills assessment. This helps verify that your trade experience meets the requirements for an Australian Skills in Demand visa.

Before you start, make sure you have these ready: CV, passport, most recent payslip, and NBI clearance will need to be uploaded immediately upon completion — applications without them will not proceed. Proof of employment is helpful but not required if unavailable at this stage.
Please read this carefully

This assessment takes approximately 40–50 minutes. You will be asked about your occupation, your work experience, and your ability to perform specific tasks independently. Some trades also include short knowledge questions to verify your practical understanding.

Please answer honestly and based on your own experience. This is the first step in a thorough multi-stage process — completing it does not guarantee employment or a visa outcome.

What happens after you submit:

  • If your results show you meet the initial skills requirements, you will be invited to take the next step in our multi-stage assessment process.
  • If your results show some gaps, your details will be kept on file and we will contact you if a suitable opportunity arises in future.

Please note: all applicants who progress will undergo trade testing as part of the assessment process. Answer based on your genuine, hands-on experience — this protects your time and ours, and gives you the best chance of success at the next stage.

This assessment must be completed in English. Please contact Peloton WorkReady if you have any questions before proceeding.
